Property Taxes Due Tuesday

Five Treasurer-Tax Collector's locations will be open Tuesday. Property owners also can pay by phone or online.

Tuesday is the deadline for paying the second installment of property taxes.

More than 360,000 bills, worth around $1 billion, hadn't been paid as of last Thursday, according to the San Diego Treasurer-Tax Collector's office. Late filers could face a 10 percent penalty and additional $10 fee.

The Treasurer-Tax Collector's office will be open at the following locations from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday to receive payments:

-- Chula Vista, 590 Third Ave;
