Planning Group Commends Sheriff's Lt. Julie Sutton Service to Ramona

The Community Planning Group wishes well for Lt. Sutton's future.

Ramona Community Planning Group Chair Jim Piva expressed gratitude at Thursday's meeting for 's work with the board.

"She's been vital and important in serving the community," Piva said.

The planning group had asked Sutton to continue sitting in on meetings as well as continuing with her work on projects she had been such a big part of, but Sutton had to decline due to family matters.

Piva said he hoped James Bovet, the Ramona resident who will take over for Sutton, works as closely with the planning group at Sutton.

"She has worked extremely well witih us," Piva said. "I hope to work with the new lieutenant as closely [as Sutton]."

The planning group approved a letter sent to Sutton commending her for her service to Ramona.

Lt. Bovet takes over as sheriff's lieutenant Sept. 7.
