Open House at Ramona Airport on Sept. 24

The popular annual event will feature aerial displays, vintage planes, classic helicopters and firefighting air tankers.

Aerial displays, vintage fighter planes, firefighting air tankers, helicopters and a 1939 GMC fire truck will be on view at on Sept. 24.

The airport's 54th annual open house will run from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The public can see the air traffic control tower, flight schools, , and and the U.S. Forest Service. Airport businesses will be open. A craft fair, games for children and a truck show also will be part of the event.

Admission and parking for the open house will be free. A pancake breakfast will kick off the event at 7 a.m. and Mexican food will be available for lunch for a fee. A shuttle service will take visitors to the various stops.
