Last Day to Pay Property Taxes Without Penalty

Tuesday is the last day for county residents to pay the first installment of 2013-14 property taxes before incurring a penalty.

The five San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector offices opened at 7 this morning and will remain open until 7 p.m. They are located at 1600 Pacific Highway and 9225 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., in San Diego; 141 E. Carmel St. in San Marcos; 590 Third Ave. in Chula Vista; and 200 S. Magnolia Ave. in El Cajon.

Payments can also be made online at sdtreastax.com, and by calling (877) 829-4732.

County officials said the property tax billing is expected to generate more than $4.8 billion, about $249 million more than last year.
