Fire Crews Work to Prevent Erosion After Eagle Fire

Full containment is expected Saturday of the fire in the Warner Springs/Anza-Borrego area.

Fire crews are continuing to build control lines and patrol the perimeter on Friday.

They are also working to reduce possible erosion in the region of the fire, which extended from the Warner Springs area into the hills of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. The National Weather Service is predicting a chance of showers and thunderstorms there through Monday night.

Demobilization of fire crews continues. At the fire's peak, about 2,100 firefighters from all over California were on scene; about 1,400 remain.
