Evacuation Forum to Be Held May 16

The public is invited to Ramona Library to learn about evacuation and the reverse 911 and emergency management systems.

County Supervisor Dianne Jacob and Sheriff's Lt. Julie Sutton will moderate a public evacuation forum at Ramona Library at 2 p.m. May 16.

The event will include a wide variety of subjects, including dealing with fires.

Jacob and Sutton would like to receive questions from the public ahead of time to better provide answers at the forum. The public can send questions to ramonaevacuationforum@sdsheriff.org The questions will be forwarded to the appropriate person to best answer the question.

The forum will offer a short training on the reverse 911 system, including a discussion of lessons learned and improvements made since the 2007 wildfires. There will also be a short training on the Emergency Management System and what the public can do to be better prepared, and there'll be a question and answer session.
