Prescription Drug Take Back Day

The DEA has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on April 28 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Residents can bring their unused and expired prescription drugs to the Julian Sheriff's Station to have them properly disposed. No questions will be asked and no forms are required to fill out. Just bring your drugs.

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day addresses the issue of prescription drug abuse. According to the 2009 Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's  National Survey on Drug Use and Health, more than seven million Americans currently abuse prescription drugs. Many of those abusing prescription drugs are teens, who take the drugs from their home medicine cabinets to get high.
