On Jan. 30, the County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to approve the Cumming Ranch Project, despite being called "liable" for future deaths on Highway 67.

Advocate groups are making efforts to dispose of the project with the help of websites like No Cumming Ranch and Citizens for a Rural Ramona.

The housing proposal, which plans to build 125 houses on one- to two-acre lots, sits at the south end of town, off Highland Valley Road and Highway 67. Driscoll's partnership, 805 Properties, bought the ranch in 1993.
