Autopsy on Body Found in Barona Area

A body believed to be that of a 17-year-old from Lakeside has been found after six weeks, on Barona Indian Reservation.

An autopsy is being conducted on the body of a young man found on the Barona Indian Reservation late Saturday afternoon.

It could be that of an El Capitan High School student who disappeared six weeks ago. Christopher Carioscia, 17, of Lakeside hasn't been seen since Oct. 26, when he told his mother he was going surfing in Pacific Beach.

Investigators began searching the Indian reservation the next day, after his burned-out vehicle was discovered there.

The body was found near San Vicente Reservoir, according to sheriff's officials. The area was processed as a crime scene, sheriff's homicide Lt. Dennis Brugos said.

Full autopsy results may not be available for about three weeks, according to Michael Workman, a spokesman for the county Medical Examiner's Office.
