Arrest Made in Barona Murder Case

A 19-year-old Lakeside man has been arrested in connection with the death of Christopher Carioscia, whose body was found on Barona Indian Reservation in December.

A Lakeside man was jailed Friday in connection with the death of an El Capitan High School student, whose body was found on the Barona Indian Reservation in December. The 17-year-old victim, Christopher Carioscia, told his mother that he was going surfing Oct. 26. His burned-out car was found on the reservation the next day, and his body was found near San Vicente Reservoir Dec. 4.

The Sheriff's Department reports that 19-year-old Stanley Virgil Lloyd Jr. was taken into custody for Christopher's death at about 6:30 a.m. at his home on Quincy Canyon Road on Friday.

An autopsy showed Christopher had been shot with a .357-caliber pistol, most likely a revolver. A plastic bag containing the type of bullets that likely killed the teen was found near his body.
