Ramona Man Killed After Motorcycle Crashes on San Vicente Rd.

Gordon Wayne Smock, 55, was ejected from his motorcycle just before 6 p.m. Saturday.

A 55-year-old Ramona man was killed Saturday evening after he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a van on San Vicente Road, according to the county Medical Examiner’s Office.

Gordon Wayne Smock was traveling eastbound on San Vicente Road east of Wildcat Canyon Road around 5:52 p.m. at a high rate of speed when he lost control and swerved into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office. Smock was ejected from his motorcycle onto the roadway.

Bystanders immediately called 911, but arriving paramedics confirmed his death without medical intervention.

The Medical Examiner’s Office said Smock was married and lived with his family in Ramona.
