Carlsbad Man Killed After Being Ejected from Motorcycle in Ramona
The Sunday-afternoon crash involved two other vehicles.

A 57-year-old Carlsbad man was killed today when his motorcycle collided with a car that had just struck another car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at 12:42 p.m. in the 18000 block of Highland Valley Road, two miles west of state Route 67, according to Cal Fire.

A 20-year-old Ramona man was driving a silver Honda Civic headed southbound on Highland Valley Road as a Toyota Prius was stopped in the roadway to yield to the motorcycle before turning left, CHP Officer Brian Pennings said.
The Honda’s driver swerved to the left to avoid the Prius, but struck the car’s left rear, Pennings said.

The Civic then struck the oncoming motorcycle and its rider was ejected, Pennings said.
The rider was taken by ambulance to a site where he could be airlifted to a hospital, but was pronounced dead at the landing zone, Cal Fire said.
Highland Valley Road was closed west of Route 67 for about 45 minutes following the crash, the California Highway Patrol reported on its website.
