A Canadian man killed Sunday in motorcycle wreck in Warner Springs was identified Tuesday.
Barry Somers, 68, was riding north on state Route 79 toward Julian with a friend when his 2012 Harley-Davidson veered off a curving stretch of road and crashed into an embankment near Chihuahua Valley Road shortly before 1 p.m., according to the Medical Examiner's Office.
Somers was wearing a helmet, but it came off before he hit the ground, according to the county agency.
Medics found him unconscious and without a pulse and, though medics tried to save him, he was declared dead at Palomar Medical Center shortly after arriving.
