22-Year-Old Ramonan Dies in Rollover Crash on San Vicente Road

William Walker, a 22-year-old resident of Ramona, died from injuries sustained in a crash Sunday.

A man airlifted to the hospital after a solo-vehicle crash on San Vicente Road Sunday morning has died, according California Highway Patrol.

William Walker, a 22-year-old resident of Ramona, suffered serious injuries in the crash just west of Wildcat Canyon Road at 5:13 a.m. Sunday and died at Palomar Medical Center that afternoon, according to CHP Officer Kevin Pearlstein.

Pearlstein said the vehicle was going westbound when it went out of control to the left and struck a drainage ditch and rolled over on to its left side.  He said it appears alcohol was a factor the crash.

It took emergency crews 40 minutes to extricate the driver from the wreck, according to the Ramona Sentinel. The man was taken to the Ramona Fire Station on San Vicente Road and airlifted from there, according to the CHP.
