Lawnmower Sparks Blaze off Hanson Lane; No Damage Reported
The half-acre fire was put out in 10 minutes by fire crews.
A half-acre vegetation fire was started on leased property near the intersection of Hanson Lane and Griffith Road after a lawnmower struck a rock, Cal Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Johnson said.
The blaze was reported around 2:50 p.m. on Thursday afternoon and fire crews from U.S. Forest Service, Cal Fire and Ramona Fire Department/Cal Fire responded immediately.
An air attack plane was also called out, but not needed, according to Cal Fire.

Johnson said the blaze was contained within ten minutes of the fire crews' arrival.
Al Burg, who leases the property, said he was "worried for a while," about the fire, but praised the quick action of the local responders.

No structure damage was reported, Johnson said.
