Large Animals Being Evacuated to Ramona

Creek Hollow Ranch has been designated as a large animal evacuation center as firefighters fight the flames of the Vallecito Lightning Complex.

Ranchita residents with large animals that need to be evacuated due to the are being asked to take their animals to , according to Intermountain Fire & Rescue.

The agency said that no other site is accepting large animals from evacuated residents.

The Department of Animal Services, assisted by partner groups and volunteers, worked thoughout Tuesday night and Wednesday morning to assist residents who could not evacuate their own animals and to evacuate animals whose owners could not be found, Intermountain Fire and Rescue said.

As of Wednesday morning, the animal response teams had evacuated 45 animals, including horses, goats and pigs. Those animals were taken to Kroghs Ranch on Highway 79 in Warner Springs.

Anyone who needs assistance evacuating their animals should call Animal Services at 619-236-2341.
