Ramona-Based Graffiti Group Accused of $82,000 of Vandalism, Three Arrested

During the week of October 7 Ramona Sheriff's detectives concluded a five month investigation into 131 incidents attributed to local group "Making Art Daily."

Three members of "Making Art Daily (MAD)," a group accused of committing graffiti vandalism valued at $82,000 in Ramona and Poway, were arrested this month, according to the Sheriff's Department.

During the week of October 7 Ramona Sheriff's detectives concluded a five month investigation into 131 incidents of graffiti that they attribute to the "Ramona-based graffiti tagging group," as MAD is described in a Sheriff's Dept. press release.

The investigation utilized a graffiti tracking database called Graffiti Tracker which assists detectives in documenting graffiti and to help identify suspects.

Ramona deputies, with the help of the Poway Criminal Apprehension Team, arrested Cameron Benge, 19, Skylar Paschke, 19, and Michael Davis, 19, for felony vandalism charges. The Sheriff's Dept. identified them as members of MAD.

MAD targeted businesses, libraries, churches, schools and private properties in Ramona and Poway, and used spray paint, permanent markers and etching devices to deface properties, according to the Sheriff's Dept. 

The Department said investigation into MAD and other tagging groups and gang related graffiti is ongoing in Ramona and Poway.
