Goats Graze in the Country Estates For Fire Prevention

About 600 goats were brought in by the U.S. Forest Service to maintain a fuel break and help prevent fire hazards in the San Diego Country Estates.

The U.S. Forest Service brought in goats recently near the Country Estates to help clear vegetation that's been deemed a fire hazard.

The goat grazing project began at the end of Ramona Oaks Road and the Forest Service said they anticipated treating approximately 100 acres in the Cleveland National Forest.

According to the Ramona Sentinel, about 600 goats were unloaded last week to work on maintaining a fuel break called the San Vicente/Barona Mesa Community Defense.
