Fire Burns Two Acres Near Downtown

Firefighters quickly douse the fire that broke out just before 2 p.m.

A brush fire that burned two acres Saturday afternoon in Ramona sent clouds of white smoke into the air, but no damage or injuries were reported.

The blaze broke out at approximately 1:47 p.m. in a grass area near 12th and H Streets, and spread to consume two acres, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze quickly and investigators continued to work to determine its cause.
