Driver to Face DUI Charges After Collision With Cement Truck on Barona

The driver was transported to hospital after going on the wrong side of the road and hitting the truck, CHP reports.

A 26-year-old male will face DUI charges after a head-on collision with a cement truck on Barona Indian Reservation on Wednesday.

The man was driving a 2006 Chevy Silverado on Barona Road near Barona Casino, when he went on the wrong side of the road and struck the semi-truck, according to California Highway Patrol spokesman Brian Pennings.

The driver complained of pain and was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital, according to Pennings and the CHP website.

Barona Road is an access road south of the casino entrance, which is on Wildcat Canyon Road. The driver was traveling westbound when the accident happened at about 10 a.m.
