County's Damage Assessment Team Tackles Chariot Fire

The county team is at the site of the Chariot Fire to collect post-disaster information to evaluate.

The Chariot Fire that erupted near Mount Laguna last weekend is now 90 percent contained, authorities say; but 149 structures have been destroyed in the fire and another nine are damaged.

San Diego County's Damage Assessment Team is on the site of the fire, which burned roughly 7,000 acres, to gather and relay information about the extent of damage.

According to the county, the team collects detailed, post-disaster information to evaluate the severity of damage and to strategize its response and recovery efforts.

All evacuation orders were lifted as of Thursday night, according to City News Service, but Sunrise Highway remained closed Friday.
