Rush hour is called rush hour because people are in a rush to get home. Yet in reality, oh yes, there is such a thing, drivers need to do anything but rush. I came past that scene at 5:41 and the guys from Ron's Tire were out there sweeping up the debris. I saw the blue Merc "Dick Tracy-ed" in the front and I'm surprised that the injuries were minor. Should I mention that the reported CHP units were not in evidence? I digress... Drivers using the center lane as an acceleration lane are to blame for this. IT'S A TURN LANE! If you intend to turn left onto South 67 at rush hour, either wait for the traffic break during the light change or go north and turn around at the next intersection. Selfish, hurried problem causers.

My father was in nooooo hurry, before you report such stuff that you know nothing about any of the what was going on find out ALL the facts. It was an ACCIDENT. What is this Dick tracy you are talking about. This is my father whom I love very much much. My father has lived here 45 years and has made that turn on to main street all those years. I accicent was horrible I agree, and I pray for the the other person in the other car. My dad does not use the center lance to make a left turn he saw no car coming and again taht is called an ACCIDENT. This is my father yo are talking about.

Whoa, Nelly! I never blamed your father as I don't know who he he or what he was driving. My point was that people get in a rush during rush hour and they should do just the opposite. Why do you automatically assume I blamed your father (now, after your comment, I do assume he was driving the Mercury)? I didn't witness the accident, I only commented on the scene, on the helpful nature of the guys at Ron's and the condition of the vehicle I saw. Dick Tracy was a comic character who sported a very distinctive nose. Whenever I see a vehicle smashed in the front, it always reminds me of Dick Tracy. So, Ms. Palmer, relax: I ain't blamin' nobody. Your father is apparently a very experienced driver and should take the changes to our traffic patterns into account, should he not? I suggest not turning left onto 67. It's just plain dangerous at rush hour.

I witnessed it, I was behind Marilyn's father, and I didnt see that car either, looked like it came out from boll weevil or maybe even the center lane, but it was hauling butt, thats for sure. I have to say I prob would have went myself, looked clear to me, but that's the point I think concerned citizen was making, turn lane isnt a waiting lane.

So sorry for my outburst of frustration, and panic. I was extrememly scared. When I saw my dad's car ( actually it is a buick not a mercury as it was reported), but I was naturally very scared and paniced. I agree that left turn onto main street is the very very worse and is sooooo dangerous. I have showed him a different way going the back streets so the we can make a right instead of a left. Getting into town is rough on that road. We really need some lights at that point. Again, I appoligize for my outburtst. That was pure frieght. I had received a call from a dear friend who was at the animal hospital and saw it happen, so i panicked. Marilyn
