Craftstones on Elm Street catches fire Saturday afternoon.

A fire that broke out at a rock-polishing company on Elm Street Saturday afternoon closed streets in the area and some people voluntarily evacuated, but no injuries were reported, according to a CalFire captain.

The fire at Craftstones was reported at 12:04 p.m., according to Capt. Mike Mohler, and firefighters had it knocked down by 12:50 p.m. Mohler said crews would remain on the scene for a few hours.

Firefighters took extra precaution as they received reports of possible hazardous materials inside the business, Mohler said.

The 600 block of Elm Street was closed due to the fire, but no mandatory evacuations were ordered, Mohler said, although some people did leave the area. Posts to Ramona Patch’s Facebook page said nearby soccer fields were evacuated due to the fumes.

The cause of the fire was under investigation Saturday.
