Body Found at Mount Woodson Golf Club

Authorities have been searching the same general area off and on since June 17, when 66-year-old Carl Salayer was reported missing.

An unidentified body was found Wednesday afternoon east of Mount Woodson Golf Club, in an area where an Alzheimer's patient went missing last week.

Deputies responding to a report of a foul odor in the 18000 block of Chablis Road in Ramona made the discovery shortly before 3 p.m., sheriff's Lt. Herb Taft said.

Authorities have been searching the same general area off and on since June 17, when 66-year-old Carl Salayer was reported missing. His last known whereabouts had been at his home in the 17000 block of Handlebar Road the previous day.

Salayer's disappearance was considered critical due to his physical condition.

The county Medical Examiner's Office was called in to take custody of the body for autopsy and identification purposes.
