Authorities Find Julian Marijuana Growing Operation; 7 Suspects Arrested

Deputies said they discovered marijuana growing equipment, 25 marijuana plants, a firearm and ammunition at a house in Julian.

After a traffic stop revealed marijuana and marijuana-growing equipment in a vehicle, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department arrested seven people in connection to a growing operation in Julian.

According to the department, the suspects were arrested on the 700 block of Ramona Drive just before 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Deputies say it appeared the suspects were in the process of dismantling and moving marijuana-growing equipment from a nearby house. 

Deputies also said they discovered more marijuana growing equipment, 25 marijuana plants, a firearm and ammunition at the nearby house.

The suspects arrested on charges of cultivating marijuana are Kevin Chhum, 19; Dara Seng, 29; Eric Tijerina, 24; Adlai Pacificar, 25; Jonathan Castaneda, 21; Suzanne Sisomphone, 29; and Sarat Sek, 28.

Sek was additionally charged with a felon in possession of a firearm, according to Sgt. Tom Poulin.

The Sheriff's Department said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be added at a later time.
