Poll: Should San Diego Enter Race to Host the 2024 Olympic Games?

U.S. Olympic Committee has final say, but is considering bids for 2022 or 2024. We have climate.

A day after watching the London Olympics Opening Ceremony, a competing in a local swim and road race said: “Coronado should bid for the next Olympics.”  Well, maybe not the Crown City, but how about San Diego? (Or add Tijuana as some have suggested.) We hosted several sports in 1984, including equestrian events. The U.S. Olympic Committee says it’s considering a bid for the 2024 Games. So picture this: Skeet shooting in Santee. Triathlon in La Jolla. And water polo in Coronado. After London's rain, how about a Games with America’s Finest Climate?

san diego would be a great area for the olympics.... they could spread the events out all over the county .....the schools and colleges could host different sports ...bring in revenue...

For those of us who live here, and who are not directly involved, it would make life very difficult, raise prices and remove local social resources (plays, restaurants, etc.) for a week or two.

As Much I would love to host the Olympics San Diego does not have the means to host it. Our transit system is borderline horrible, And i would embarrassed to host track and field event at qualcomm. Lets also not forget our horrible city council, they can't even get the pension right let alone the Olympics.

Oh God No. Why would SD want to make money? Should of had a football stadium already and get the Superbowl back. Maybe if the voters get the stuck up I am better then u out of office then Maybe. Remember probably No fireworks cause of some knucklehead.
