Poll: Should Parents Need Doctor’s Note to Opt Out of School Shots?

Herd immunity is bogus! And the mentality that touts it is those who rely on those who fund this machine to argue in favor of vaccines. Never going to vax my kids. Herd immunity is a crock and like a previous post mentioned, if your children are vaxxed, why be so concerned about my unvaxxed?

A sheep mentality, you have not seen the graphs put out by those who didn't stand to make a fortune hiding the truth, they clearly show the decline of all of those diseases before the vaccine was ever invented.

Injecting substances into the body should be only do.e with informed consent. People need to be informed on the ingredients in the vaccine, the risks, side effects to watch for. Once a person is informed they have the right to decide if this is what they want for their body, if that person wants it they sign an informed consent form. If they dont want it, then they dont get it. Like surgery or anothee medical procedure. We are informed and then decide if this is the what that person wants. I should not have to have an Md to decide what is injected into my body without my consent.

In the end, we should practice natural health and use the medical advancements of the last century. It's good to eat an organic diet, breast feed children and use herbal remedies. However, one should also get vaccinated and go to the hospital for severe illnesses/injuries. And you're right Kat, there's plenty of proof on both sides.:)

Ok here's one...if vaccines are so safe then WHY do you have to sign a waiver prior to the shot given and WHY are the vaccine manufacturers held harmless if you are injured? ?? Interesting! Explain THAT to me if you think vaccination is great

Probably b/c of various lawsuits. Any medical treatment has side effects; live vaccinations do make people slightly ill and the drs/medical companies don't wanna be sued if someone gets sick and/or unexpectedly dies.

lol, after reading through the shenanigans. I have a few things to say. First of all Jay, ok ok your all about the herd immunity and you rely on your assertion that diseases have been on a decline with millions dying and now theres not blah blH blah. right? if you consider yourself so informed I ask you this? Have you read the studies that suggest that the decline can be attributed to the increase in sanitation and advances in civilization, in general. This was discovered after comparing our country with that of othdr countries that have no vaccination laws and the numbers per capita were the same. so see if you can followme here.. if vaccination was the cause for decline what was the cause for the even greater decline in countries with no mandated vaccination. I hope you do alittle more research on the subject.

also dig a little deeper. and find out why countries like Australia and ripping vaccination laws right out their books.. why did the head pediatrician for the city of delhi make the statement that vaccines dont work and that in his country it is evident that the vaccine makers have very little concern about health and that vaccinations are all about money.. i wont waste my time posting links because i know people like you dont read them anyway and people like me already have them. but if you turned off Fox and turned on some real world news. you would see what other countries are doing around the world. publishing studies and changing mandatory vaccination laws all over the world. this for those of you who believe in the herd crap, you must not realize that one this is going to reaxlly screw up the herd, leaving america the only so called herd still out there spreading the disease and that the herd theory was just that a theory.. its not your fault though because i bet you didnt know(though you are sooooo informed) that the only way to TEST this theory was to innoculate millions of people and basically see what happens... now what you fail to realize and what the drug companies are trying their hardest to conceal is that test is now over and years later the rest of the world is disproving is that the herd theory, as evidenced by the whooping cough.

and many other outbreaks accross the world... which the rest of the world seemed to wake up but not us. and lastly jay, If you have children, please, please, please! do enough research that if your child is ever injured by a vaccinations as mine was, you will feel that you made an informed decision. because i cant tell you how many nights i still lose sleep knowing that my child trusted me and depended on me to keep him safe and make smart descisions for him. After his injury and digging into vaccine information, finding out that the american public was the proving grounds for vaccines as so stated by the cdc, and finding out how little doctors are actually taught about vaccines, and that the studies are funded by the very makers of the product.. there was just too much there. and i cant forgive myself for not paying attention to my world around me. how stupid i felt when i discovered what it seemed like the rest of the world knew already that our country is messed up and with enough money you can get people to believe any lie, make them inject substances that are regulated by the epa that you cant spill them without calling a hazmat team, and then make them pay for it! it sounds like a joke, and i bet someone is laughing at you Jay all the way to the bank.

my adult kid was working on a construction project at the christian school in san diego that had the measles outbreak a couple years ago....the entire school was shut down including the construction....

97 shots aren't required.... a school age kid can handle the minimum shot requirements ..
you're blaming vaccines for diabetes? most of what you're talking about should be blamed on poor diet and exercise, not shots...

i kind of hope they do....i would like to hear the view of the parents who were effected by the measles outbreak a couple years ago....i wonder if how they feel about shots now..
the outbreak was in a private school where the parents shared similar views on subjects like vaccinations...

the items you're referring to are 20th century inventions....eating healthy doesn't protect a person from infectious diseases or there would have been no infectious diseases in the past...
you're confusing lifestyle choices with things that are part of life in a populated society... and for cali that's the bottom line...this is a densely populated state where people come in from all over the world...

"11 additional measles cases were identified, all in unvaccinated children." All among unvaccinated children and only 11. And, they were quarantined, which is right and proper, but then when you get sick that's what is done. The person stays home in order to recover. As children, when we contracted any number of "childhood diseases" that's what was done. It was protocol. Makes sense. But, to close the whole school, if that even happened, was overkill, at best and major paranoia, at worst. Was someone trying to make a political statement? I'm sure.

"once there's an outbreak it doesn't matter who's got shots" What does that mean? I'm confused as it doesn't make sense. If you've been immunized, isn't the concensus belief, you are safe? Before I came to my senses, one of my children was immunized with the MMR at the prescribed age of 15 months. At 13 years of age she came down with Measles, verified by the doctor, but denied by the health department because.........wait for it..............she had been immunized! Her immunization took place in 1980, her bout with Measles in 1992. Of course, since then, it has become an established fact that the immunizations do not give lasting protection, thus the need for continual boosters. Of course, those of us who have had all of these diseases are in the clear, we have lasting immunity. In my mind, if I were a believer in immunizations, at the very least I would wonder about the no lasting affect and think that possibly it would be better to contract these diseases as a child versus as an adult. In general the disease is more benign in childhood than in adulthood. Immunizations for childhood diseases, now that we know they do not give lifetime protection, has opened up a whole can of worms for adults.
But, these continued boosters are money in the bank for someone or someones. Almost everything has a money trail, follow it and you will come to the truth of most matters. It's usually not pretty and not to the benefit of most people.

It is common knowledge among certain circles of physicians that auto immune disease can be inherited from parents and then develops into specific disease, within each individual. In my own case, Hashimotos, allergies and insulin resistance. I have three brothers who share the same mother as mysel; one has developed Diabetes and the other two Arthritis. All because of auto immune disease. Two of my brothers have resorted to pharmaceutical meds, one brother to herbs and myself to herbs, supplements and diet change; no red meat, no grain. My Hashimotos has been downgraded to Hypothyroidism, which hopefully will continue to improve. Not many know that 5% of the population has little or no tolerance for pharmaceuticals. That's why there is a disclaimer stating that in some, the meds will cause or exacerbate the disease, being addressed. For those people, food must become their medicine. I am one the 5% that cannot tolerate pharmaceuticals. Taking antihistamines causes more histimines to the point of anaphylactic shock. Years ago using Armours and then a synthetic thyroid caused heart palpitations, hives, migraines and depression. We are all different in our makeup and should never be treated as cookie cutter individuals. One size fits all, doesn't wash.

Libi, you still don't seem to understand that those of us who have made the decision not to vaccinate are fully aware of possible consequences and are prepared for it and accept it. Just because one of our children may become sick does not send us into a downward spiral. We deal with it as our parents and grandparents did before us.

I think the question was about being forced to have a physician sign off on a parent's right to waive vaccinations, not whether they are good or not. If you think about that fact ALONE, then none of this mumbo jumbo would be going on. Frankly, it is actually funny when I hear others defend vaccines. All your argument is is the mantra of the vaccine industry. There are very few WELL-INFORMED individuals that buy into that advertisement. Anyway....NO PARENT SHOULD BE FORCED INTO SOMETHING AGAINST THEIR WILL, that, my friends, is a Constitutional right. Forcing parents to obtain a provider's signature is just another step towards forcing the government's agenda. I will never ever say, "Here Government, have all my rights....I should not have a say in what medically happens with my child or myself." This is a right to vaxxers and non-vaxxers that is being compromised. Isn't that completely clear?

what about the plague? No vaccine for that and we survived. Also whooping cough is cyclical, no matter how much you vaccinate every 4 yrs it comes around. So your assumption of a resurgence is false. You really need to learn history a century ago we were living in extremely filthy conditions, that is one of the reasons why so many people died back then. Your assumptions that because you vaccinate, you've protected your friends kids is very pompous especially when the companies who produce your vaccines list on their website that you are contagious up to 6 weeks after an injection

You're right, since the introduction of the chicken pox vaccine many studies have shown that those vaccinated for chicken pox have an extremely high chance of getting shingles.

What are you talking about? Firstly you cannot prove a negative, second there are studies showing that aluminum in vaccines can cause autism. On page 11 of the dtap insert one of the side effects listed is autism. also SIDS. Getting chicken pox is not lethal and it also protects you from getting shingles. If you knew your history better you would understand this. it is the basis for the first vaccination.

i completely understand where the parents are coming from - but that small slice of good parents that are concerned with their kids need to realize that the bad parents are opting out of shots just because it's easy...
..and those are the kids that need their shots... it's best for to tighten the rules to stop the parents that don't do anything for their kids unless it's required by law...

It is much easier to take a child in to get injected than it is to file for an exemption. So I really think you have NO idea where parents are coming from, when they decide to opt out

i said that bad parents will take the easy way...and good parents that are concerned about their kids should look at the entire picture....
i really don't understand what the big deal is.....if the parent takes care of the child there's a family doctor that knows the child's history and will sign the form....not hard...probably just drop it off or fax it in to the office...

Libi - thank you for clarifying. The problem is that most doctors are refusing to sign the exemption forms. Tons of parents cannot find a doctor who will sign and their usual doctor(not western mainstream) is not allowed to sign the exemption. So where does that leave parents who do not want these in their children?

I love to see so many parents getting informed about this delicate issue. For those looking for more research, there is an amazing German study released in September 2011 of about 8000 UNVACCINATED children (from newborns to 19 years) that shows vaccinated children have more than twice the diseases and disorders than unvaccinated children, and perhaps five times more of certain disorders.
