Paul Ransom Dies at 50; Local Business Owner and Active Community Member

Paul Joseph Ransom, 50, of Ramona passed away on Aug. 7, 2013.  He was born in San Diego, California on April 1, 1963 to Joseph and Esther Ransom.  

Paul grew up in Ramona and graduated from Ramona High School. He worked in the family business and has been a principal of Ransom Pump & Supply since 1983.

Paul worked on nearly everyone's pump in Ramona. He was also a dedicated board member at In His Steps, and was an active, serving member of Mountain View Community Church.

Paul is survived by his wife Cynthia, his two step-children, Nicholas (Heather) Head and Sarah (Kenny) Groves, both of Ramona and 3 grandchildren: Joshua, Brodie and Zoey. He also leaves behind his mother, Esther Ransom of Ramona, brother Weld (Susan) Ransom of Minneapolis, and two sisters, Susan (Jimmie) Allen of Hesperia and Janet Baxendale of Princeton. He will also be greatly missed by "The Ransom Eight", his beloved 8 nephews: Jason, Joe, Luke, Chris, Ben, Blair, Sam, and Graham.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Paul at Mountain View Community Church in Ramona on Friday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Paul's memory to In His Steps Christian Homes at 1619 La Brea St., Ramona, CA 92065.
