Michael Richardson, Active in Ramona Boy Scouts and Nursery, Dies at 58

Michael Richardson died October 4 at his Ramona home, according to Legacy Memorial. He was 58.

Michael was born with extreme brain damage at birth, with doctors saying he would never care for himself. He proved them wrong. He lived in his own apartment for 20 years and worked at the Ramona nursery.

He attended Mt. View School and Unyeway, a program that trains adults to work in the community. Michael enjoyed the Special Olympics, Boy Scouts, bowling, Disneyland and summer camp. He was confirmed at Ramona Lutheran church.

He is survived by his mother, sister, family members and friends, who ask that gifts in his memory be sent to RLS Christian Day School, Unyeway or to cancer research.
