Classic Rotors Museum

The museum displays historic helicopters and vintage rotocraft, including its showpiece, the H21B or "Flying Banana." The 1957 helicopter has been the flying star of several movies, including "Godzilla" and "Straight Up: Helicopters in Action," an IMAX movie produced for the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum. And while there are several H21s on exhibit in other museums, the one here is the last one that can fly.

Classic Rotors is a nonprofit museum that relies on donations and the support of volunteers. It's currently under renovation to upgrade exhibits and open to the public Fridays and Saturdays, and by appointment. Visitors must enter through the Chuck Hall Aviation entrance. Follow the instructions posted on the gate keypad for access.
