"Our military is such a vital and important part of our society, and yet sadly over 22 veterans take their own lives every day. Carry The Fallen is raising money for Active Heroes, a 501c3 charity committed to helping veterans and their families with the assistance they so desperately need."

Dana Flaherty, a member of the group that hiked Main Street, wrote about the fundraiser:

Yesterday’s Carry The Fallen ruck was such a neat experience... we marched all up and down our little town (several times!) over a 12 hour period, and met some truly fantastic people. While my feet/hips/knees ache from rucking 25.12 miles, the pain involved sharpened the awareness of what our military endures on a daily basis. I am forever humbled and grateful by this event, and I'm so proud to have been a part of it.

Our small Ramona team raised over $1000, including an additional $101.31 that good folks dropped in our red bucket while we walked. (Nationally they have raised over $85,000, and they’re still going!)
