The annual Ramona Food and Clothes Closet holiday program kicked off recently and applications will be taken from participating families Dec. 2-6 from noon to 4 p.m. at the organizations office (773 Main St).
Families that take part in the program receive toys for kids ages 1 to 12 and a large box of food for the holidays. Donations can be dropped off at the Food and Clothes Closet or at any of the many bins at businesses around town.
To qualify for the program an adult family member must prove residency in Ramona, Julian, Santa Ysabel, Ranchita, Warner Springs or Borrego Springs, have picture ID, and document the entire household income, including employment, Social Security, disability, food allowance, unemployment compensation and child support.
