I'm a 20-year vet. While in the US NAVY serving on Okinawa, Japan, I managed the Command Duty Office…Read More for 1-1/2 years. I had 3 flag poles for US, UN, and Japan. Winds were typically over 40 to 50 mhp and flag wear was constant. I had to destroy flags frequently. My "ceremony" was private, out of public site, the flag was in a paper bag, never seen by anybody. I don't care who you are or your intentions, but a burning US flag should never be a ceremony, nor recorded, unless in protest against US policy.
