Water Main Break on SR 67 Affects 34 Customers, Says RMWD

An emergency mainline shutdown went into effect at 9 p.m. Thursday evening.

Ramona Municipal Water District reported a water main break Thursday evening on Highway 67 from Susie Way to Rotanzi Street, affecting 34 customers.

According to the RMWD website, 11 fire hydrants, 34 meters and one fire detector are currently out of service. All of Rancho Maria Lane and Outback Place is affected.

The Ramona Sentinel reported that Brian Wilson with TC Construction said the company had been called for the emergency repair and worked through the night.

Wilson said they were replacing a section of the pipe that had rusted out, the Sentinel said. Once the pipe is repaired, an approximately 15-foot long section of Route 67 would need to be repaved where the crews had dug to reach the water main, according to the Sentinel.

RMWD says the emergency mainline shutdown went into effect at 9 p.m. Thursday and will continue until repairs are made.
