Ramona Sets Record with Heat

The week-long heat wave has set a record of high temperatures in town.

If you felt the heat a little more yesterday than usual, you weren't imagining things. Ramona broke a record Wednesday with its triple-digit temperatures.

The high on Wednesday in Ramona reached 101. According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the temperature was a record high, with the last highest temperature reaching 99 on Aug. 8 in 1998.

The high temperature comes with a that's lasted all week and is said to continue into the weekend.

"A minor cooling trend will begin this weekend west of the mountains," a NWS advisory read. "However, it will remain very hot in the deserts Saturday and Sunday."

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 100. Light west wind increasing to 10 to 15 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 70. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable in the evening.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 100. Light and variable wind becoming west 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

Friday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 69. West wind 5 to 10 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 97. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

Saturday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 68.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 95.

Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 68.
