Rain Moves on for Now, Low Temps to Linger

Monday's high temperature in Ramona was only 49 degrees, a new record.

The skies are clearing after two days of rain that saw .54 of an inch drop in Ramona, plus chilly temperatures. On Monday the high only reached 49 degrees, a record that stood since 1984, when the high temperature was 53 degrees.

While rain in December is not unusual, on Dec. 13, 1967, snow levels dropped to levels rarely seen, with 3 inches falling in Borrego Springs, according to the National Weather Service. Parts of the Desert State Park had more than 4 inches of snow on the ground. The only other measurable snowfall on record for Borrego Springs was two days later, when 2 inches fell.

No more rain is forecast until Thursday night, when the showers may return. The National Weather Service forecast for Ramona:
