Heading Out of Town for Thanksgiving? Fill Up While Gas Prices Drop

Gas prices are the lowest since July 24.

Are you traveling to see family for Thanksgiving? There's good news for your wallet and gas tank: gas prices have decreased for the 42nd consecutive day.

According to City New Service, the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County fell a half-cent to $3.802, its lowest amount since July 24.

The average price has dropped 92.3 cents over the past 41 days, including a half-cent on Sunday, after rising 54.7 cents over the previous six days to a record high of $4.725 on Oct. 8, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 5.7 cents less than one week ago and 72.3 cents lower than one month ago, but 1.8 cents more than one year ago.

So keep your fingers crossed for continuously-reduced gas prices or fill up your getaway vehicle today before you leave for the Thanksgiving holiday.
