Charges Filed After Pot Plants Found Growing Outside Ramona Home

A Ramona couple's home was raided after agents in a helicopter spotted the medical marijuana plot in their yard.

A couple that lives on an eight-acre lot in Ramona is facing felony charges after federal and state narcotics agents found around 25 marijuana plants growing outside their home, U-T San Diego reported.

Dennis and Deborah Little have a doctor’s recommendation to use medical marijuana for chronic illnesses.

“Dennis, 64, has neuropathy, a nerve disorder; and Deborah, 59, is a cancer patient who has been treated for AIDS for 20 years,” the paper reported.

The couple is being represented by medical marijuana attorney Lance Rogers, who questioned the motives behind the decision by District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis to prosecute the Littles.

“These are elderly, sick people who are being treated like criminals,” Rogers told U-T San Diego reporter Greg Moran. “They say they only target profiteers or business people. If that is truly the case, I don’t understand why they are being charged.”
