Thousands Visit Snow in Julian, Mt. Laguna

Winter isn't over yet, says one Julian merchant.

Julian and the Laguna Mountains have plenty of snow around, though the lighter snowfall in Wynola has melted.

Thousands of people flocked to Mt. Laguna on Saturday and Sunday, where two feet of snow had fallen. Some people sledded, some snowboarded and many took in the panoramic views of local snowcapped mountains framing the Anza Borrego Desert State Park.

Julian was packed with visitors. Restaurants were busy and one local pie store had a long line out the door and down the sidewalk. Traffic was jammed leaving town late Sunday afternoon.
