Group Wins Lottery Through Country Estates Liquor Store

Ten co-workers won more than $240,000 in a Mega Millions ticket.

A group of 10 co-workers won more than $240,000 on a Mega Millions ticket purchased at a Ramona liquor store, the California Lottery announced Friday.

The group, who won won $241,723 in the Feb. 17 drawing, had been playing the lottery together since April, according to lottery officials.

The lucky ticket was purchased at Country Village Spirits, at 23658 San Vicente Road. It matched winning numbers 16, 25, 28, 32 and 40, missing only the Mega number of 3, officials said. Mega Millions is a multi-state game in which players pick five numbers from one to 56 plus a mega number from one to 46. Drawings are held each Tuesday and Friday at 8 p.m. The next jackpot will be $83 million, officials said.

The liquor store had no further information on the group when contacted by Patch Friday night.
