Gas Prices in S.D. Set Thanksgiving Day High

Despite dropping for 45 straight days, the $3.79 price per gallon is nearly six cents higher than the mark set last year.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County has set a Thanksgiving Day record high of $3.79, despite decreasing for 45 consecutive days, including six-tenths of a cent on Thursday.

The previous high for Thanksgiving was $3.732 set last year, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price has decreased 93.5 cents over the past 45 days, including three-tenths of a cent on Wednesday, to its lowest amount since July 23. The average price is 3 cents more than one year ago, but 4.3 cents less than one week ago and 64.7 cents lower than a month ago.

The streak of dropping prices is the longest since a 91-day streak from
Sept. 16-Dec. 15 in 2008.
