Ramona Chamber Award Finalists Announced

Carol Fowler, Don Owen and Sharon Davis are finalists for Citizen of the Year.

The finalists for the awards this year are:

Citizen of the Year: Sharon Davis, Carol Fowler, Don Owen.

Finalists were named because of their "individual community involvement, volunteerism and leadership," according to Ralph Mittman, who heads the award committee.

Business of the Year: European Services, Ramona Family Naturals, Dr. Hill Family Dentist and SDG&E.

Finalists in this category were chosen for their "abundant community support and countless contributions."

Non-Profit Organization of the Year: Ramona ROCC and Boys & Girls Club

"These philanthropic agencies bring a tremendous amount of value to our town and make things happen that would not otherwise be possible," Mittman stated in a news release.

The chamber has recognized individuals with awards for nearly 50 years and for 31 consecutive years.

The winners of the awards, as well as the Lifetime Achievement Award, will be announced at the chamber's installation dinner Jan. 15 at San Vicente Golf Resort.

Tickets are still available for the event. Dinner is $55 per person. RSVP to the chamber office by Jan. 12 at 760-789-1311.
