Ramona Music Fest Will End With Bluegrass Festival

The nine-day event will include two stages, beer and wine gardens and raffle prizes.

What do you get when you mix up some jazz, rockabilly and bluegrass, then add a splash of beer and a pour of wine? Ramona's annual Music Fest!

The highly-anticipated event is back for its sixth year this April, and Music Fest Chair Craig Jung said the event will feature well-established performers and a bluegrass finale with the Ramona Bluegrass and Old West Fest picking up where Music Fest leaves off on May 4 and 5.

Sara Petite and a variety of exceptional music artists will rock Dos Picos County Park on April 27, which will kick-off the nine days of music in Ramona.

Among those set to appear on two stages are the Combos, HarryJoe Reynolds, Ramona High School Royal Blues Jazz Band, the Shirthouse Bluegrass Band, and Roy Rapid and the Rhythm Rock Trio. Musical styles will include ska, rock, Americana, rockabilly, blues, jazz and bluegrass.

And because your taste buds needs as much stimulation as your ears, the Music Fest will have beer and wine gardens near the stages, as well as food and drinks.

The fun-filled event on April 27 begins at noon and ends at 5 p.m. Guests will not only enjoy the music, but games, live auctions, drawings and prizes.

Two featured raffle prizes will be awarded—first prize, an Apple iPad 2, and second prize, an Apple iPod Touch. Raffle tickets are $25, available at the event and from Rotary or Kiwanis club members. A maximum of 300 tickets will be sold.

Jung is encouraging the community to come out and enjoy the more-than-a-week-long-of-music event at the local park, noting the beautiful surrounding and weather.

“Come on out for a good time, nice weather and beautiful music!” Jung said.

Music Fest is a fundraiser sponsored by the nonprofit Ramona Rotary and Kiwanis clubs.
