Movie Night

The kids are asleep and it's YOU time. Select one of the movies you took time to pick out at the local library or Ramona Blockbuster, just for you. There's nothing wrong with "chick-flicks."

Spend some time with yourself every week doing something you enjoy. Browsing the DVD shelves at or shopping for the latest DVD might be a nice idea if you are looking for something to do. The local offers the newest releases in cinema hits, biographies, documentaries, and even exercise DVDs to rent or own. The library offers free DVD rental.

Taking even an hour to browse for a movie could clear your mind and bring you some much needed peace away from the kids.

According to Psychology Today, it could be the best time you spend all week, "Meaningful alone-time, it turns out, is a powerful need and a necessary tonic in today's rapid-fire world. Indeed, solitude actually allows us to connect to others in a far richer way."

Ramona's Blockbuster has recommended these new releases for any mom looking to put her feet up and enjoy women-related popular culture:

1.) You, Again: Starring Jaime-Lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver, this "cat-fight" hit comedy relates the usual female drama and competition with laughter at every corner.

2.) Life as We Know It: Katherine Heigl pares up with Josh Duhamel to raise a baby that is not theirs, but gifted to them through God-parenthood.

3.) The Kids Are All Right: Nominated for several Academy Awards, this family comedy stars Annette Bening and Julianne Moore as a same-sex couple coming to terms with their children's need to discover their biological father, Mark Ruffalo.

Not interested in a family or girl hit? Search Blockbuster's website for whatever you're in the mood for.

Take the controller back because tonight, mama, it's all about you.
