RHS Symphonic & Jazz Bands Pops Concert

The RHS Symphonic and Jazz Bands would like to invite the community of Ramona to our final concert of the year, the 2012 Pops Concert, which will feature the music of George Gershwin.  This year, the Symphonic Band will be playing Symphonic Gershwin, a combination of three George Gershwin tunes into one song, and Strike up the Band, another Gershwin tune.  In addition, the Symphonic Band will be playing Someone to Watch Over Me by Gershwin, featuring Ramona High School Chamber Choir vocalist and Ramona High School Color Guard member Alexis Sumner. The Jazz Bands will be playing several selections as well, including Embraceable You, featuring Ramona High School Chamber Choir vocalist and Ramona High School Color Guard member Sydney Moore.  A highlight of the performance on May 25th will be the Advanced Jazz Band playing Rhapsody in Blue in conjunction with the Mesa College Jazz Band.

The Pops Concert is performed twice, on May 23 and May 25 at 7 PM at the Olive Peirce Middle School Outdoor Amphitheater behind the Performing Arts Center.  Concert patrons may choose VIP seating at tables, which includes a slice of cheesecake and a drink ($10), or lawn seating ($5).  VIP seating is limited and must be reserved in advance by calling 760-440-7692.  Patrons are encouraged to bring blankets/chairs for lawn seating, and a light jacket as it does cool off once the sun goes down!
