Weekend Happenings: Suicide Prevention Walk, Foreclosure Clinic and Recycling Event

A look at some Ramona activities to keep you busy all weekend long.

It's the first weekend of November and with cooler temps, Ramona is bound to enjoy the days off.

Ramona has some noteworthy and important events this weekend, including the Suicide Prevention Walk at Ramona High Schoool and a fundraiser at Bella Mia for the RHS Band.

The library is offering a foreclosure clinic, a recycling fair will bring out the green in us all and those who want to keep the spirit of Halloween alive can visit Town Hall for the annual Corpse Exhibition.

Ramona High School JNROTC Hosts a Military Salute this Saturday! The Ramona Community Brass Band has a role in this too. The event is open to the pubic and is NO charge and is being held at the Ramona HS Gymnasium ON CAMPUS - 1401 Hanson Lane, Ramona CA 92065 This features a silent auction, a recreation of the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknowns in Arlington National Cemetery with a wreath laying, a reading of names of all the fallen heroes from Ramona in all our previous wars and actions and a musical tribute during a Civil War timeline reading, with an emphasis on Civil War Sailors and Marines. An added highlight is that Mr. Abraham Lincoln will make an appearance to deliver his Gettysburg Address during this segment. It starts at 4 PM with the brass band providing some John Philip Sousa style patriotic music and a colors ceremony at 5 PM leads into the tomb presentation, wreath laying and reading of names. After this the brass band will run through the timeline and at 7:30 PM the JNROTC members will recognize the Navy Birthday with a Cake Cutting and social hour. Come out and support your local JNROTC unit~!!
