SDG&E Pulls Power Lines Across SR 67 After Tuesday Night Accident

The highway was temporarily closed to allow the movement of wire across the road.

After a traffic collision took out power lines and left nearly 800 SDG&E customers without power, the energy company had to temporarily close a stretch of state Route 67 Wednesday morning to pull wires across the road, California Highway Patrol reported.

According to CHP, the road was closed for about 20 minutes Wednesday morning around 8:45 a.m. As of 9:12 a.m., the highway was once again open to drivers.

A collision Tuesday night around 8:30 p.m. brought power lines down, trapping one person inside a vehicle, CHP said.

The accident caused a SigAlert along Highway 67 between Poway and Dye Roads. There has been no update to the extent of injuries sustained by anyone involved in Tuesday's accident.
