Dirty Girl 5K Run Sprints into San Diego

The girls-only mud run will benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Strap your running shoes on, leave the men at home and bring your girl power—it’s time to get dirty.

Dirty Girl Mud Run and the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) are partnering together to host a 5K mud run.

Hurdle, crawl, run and journey through 11 muddy obstacles, including a mud pit called PMS (Pretty Muddy Stuff) and a wall climb called Just Get Over It.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit NBCF.

In 2012, Dirty Girl’s goal was to provide the NBCF with over $250,000 in monetary and in-kind support. This year, their goal is to raise over $1.5 million in support, according to the website.

In addition, cancer survivors will be able to register for free, either online or at the event.

Dirty Girl 5K Mud Run will be at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Cottonwood Golf Club in El Cajon

Girls of all skill levels are invited to participate but the minimum age is 14.

Registration is $100 and available online or the day-of the event. Patch readers get 20 percent off the registration fee. Use the code SDPATCH during checkout.
