'Typical Rush Hour Traffic' Causes Fender Bender on SR 67

An SUV had to be towed away after hitting the rear of a truck during rush hour traffic Thursday.

A fender bender during rush hour traffic on State Route 67 slowed the line down of cars coming up the hill Thursday afternoon.

CHP Officer Edward Aguirre told Patch that a car came to a quick stop, causing a gold Ford F-350 to also come to a quick stop. A white Ford Explorer couldn't stop in time and rear-ended the Ford F-350, causing minor damage to the truck and moderate-to-mild damage to the SUV.

Aguirre said that the three involved in the minor accident, which was called in at 5:10 p.m., were all wearing their seatbelts and they reportedly were not using their cellphones.

The truck was able to drive away from the accident, but the SUV had to be towed away.

Though the cause is still under investigation, Aguirre said that "typical rush hour traffic" is to blame.
