'Pretty Quiet' at Cedar Creek Falls Area Over the Weekend
Thornbush Road residents say they're glad the trailhead is temporarily closed.
The Cedar Creek Falls area was 'pretty quiet' Saturday, according to Sheriff's Lt. Julie Sutton of the Ramona substation.
The Sheriff's ASTREA helicopter flew over the area. Sheriff's staff talked to a few people.
On Friday, Sutton told Patch that their main focus at this time is to educate people rather than pass out citations.

All trails into the Falls were temporarily closed this week by the U.S. Forest Service after . The closure is also based on concerns expressed by people who live on Thornbush Road, a cul-de-sac in the San Diego Country Estates area of Ramona, that ends at a trailhead into the Falls.
Residents have complained about hundreds of people who have used the trails on weekends. Some visitors have urinated in gardens, left trash and been drunk and disrespectful, residents told Patch on Friday. (See the attached video).

One resident, Eileen Castberg, said the closure is "long overdue."
The Forest Service plans to re-open the trails by Nov. 8.
Update: The trail is now not expected to re-open until April 2012.
